Our adventure
In 2018 we got into Dungeons and Dragons. We quickly fell head over heels in love with the character building and awesome stories. It is the perfect way to be creative and spend quality time with our friends. Almost immediately we started collecting dice but it was always a struggle to find the perfect sets to match the characters we played. Since we were both creatively inclined, we decided to roll the dice and start this amazing dice making adventure together!
In february 2019 we began making our first sets of dice after gifting the materials to each other as a christmas present. It took a lot of patience, trial and error before we got a dice set we felt like we could vouch for. But making dice was turning out to be a lot harder than we thought it would be, and it seemed the more we learnt the higher our own standards seemed to increase as well.
In October 2019 we purchased our own set of masters from the Blue Mimic as well as a pressure pot. We had some struggles with the pressure pot, but in January 2020 we made our own molds and made the first pull with our own font and logo! It was a special moment for us, not only to see our logo on a dice and make something that was uniquely ours, but also because of the amazing quality we were able to achieve.
All in all this dice making adventure has been truly incredible for us; both as a couple and as a business. We feel extremely lucky to be a part of such an amazing community which is build around support and love. We can only hope to give back to our fellow dice makers and continue making unique handmade dice!
Camilla
Camilla runs Alea Creations’ instagram on a day to day basis; making posts and answering comments and DMs. She loves to connect with the amazing community that has been created around DnD and dice makers.
She loves making dice with swirls and unique color combinations!
If Camilla was a DnD character she would be a Yuan-ti artificer. In our main campaign she plays Robynn; a Yuan-ti monk, who is fast and deadly and most importantly the tank of the group. She is loved for her badass and forward characteristics which are not far from Camilla’s own.
Julie
Julie is a Graphic Designer and loves photography. These two things she combines to ensure that Alea Creations always have stunning photos and a consistent identity. She also loves to read and often takes inspiration from book covers and characters when she is creating new dice.
She loves working with flowers for dice and two-toned resin!
If Julie was a DnD character she would be a Dragonborn Eldritch Knight, but in our main campaign she plays Dharris; a Tiefling rogue/fighter combination, whom she loves to death as he is also her first ever DnD character.
